The ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Dean of Students Office is a resource for students and the campus community that facilitates the integration of academics with all aspects of the university and student life.

The Augustana Dean of Students Office builds a community enriched by diversity and sustained by the university core values, civility and mutual respect.

Beth Elam joined Augustana in 2009 as a graduate assistant residence hall director in the Department of Residence Life. In 2011, Elam stepped into the role of assistant dean of students, overseeing the areas of student health & counseling, supporting students of concern and crisis response. In 2014, she added the role of Title IX coordinator, overseeing the institution's Title IX program. In 2023, Elam began serving as acting dean of students, Elam oversees all aspects of the student experience, including the Dean of Students Office, Augustana Recreational Services, Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs. Demonstrating outstanding leadership, she was named the dean of students in March 2025.
