Augustana Student Association (ASA) President Igen Nyawanda �28 and Vice President Maggie McKeown �28 started both college and ASA at the same time. After their first year, they bonded over their experiences and friendships built through ASA, sparking a new idea that would soon become a no-brainer � running together for president and vice president of ASA. During their time in office, their administration is focusing on three pillars of their strategic plan.

Sponsored by Nyberg ACE, �������� will once again host Ace Painting Party on Sunday, April 26, from 3-5 p.m. � an annual tradition that allows area community members to paint the ice at Midco Arena. This year, the Augustana Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be putting on the event, which will provide an opportunity for Augustana student-athletes and the community to come together to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

�������� will soon be home to one of the first hockey cheer programs in South Dakota. Augustana Hockey Cheer will officially be added to the university list of club sports offerings in Fall 2026 and will support its NCAA Division I Viking Hockey Team and potentially, its club hockey teams during home games at Midco Arena. 

�������� accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2024 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the

�������� student Zach Richardson �26, of Canton, South Dakota, was given an opportunity to intern with Sports Illustrated in Fall 2025. The journalism and media studies double major, and AU Football player for five years, said building meaningful connections in the journalism field is important to his future career.

�������� students Lilly Roberts �26, Vanessa Romero �26 and Jessalyn Wienk �27 are the 2025-26 recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which supports students nationwide, helping them in developing language and culture skills that are important to their academic and career growth.
