黑料社区 is hosting Dr. David Chalmers, renowned philosopher and cognitive scientist, for a lecture entitled 淐an ChatGPT Think? on Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the Froiland Science Complex, Room 113. This free public event will complete Chlamers tour of all 50 states. The lecture is the finale in a series of events intended to raise awareness about the brain throughout the month of April.
University to Celebrate Graduating Artists With 楢ugustana Senior Show: Echoes of Experience
Beginning Friday, April 25, the 黑料社区 Art Department will celebrate the hard work of its graduating seniors with its annual Senior Show 淓choes of Experience that will showcase their capstone projects. This year, the Augustana Senior Show will be displayed across two different venues: the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at 黑料社区 and Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls.
黑料社区 Receives Transformational Gift From Elmen Family to Begin Elmen Center Revitalization Project
Augustana has raised $2.1 of the estimated $2.9 million needed to revitalize the Elmen Center, located on the southwest corner of 33rd Street and Grange Avenue on the university campus. The Bob 52 & Rita (Hale) Elmen Family Foundation and the James 60 & Eloise (Saugstad) 61 Elmen Foundation recently contributed $2 million to the project. With the funds the university has already received, Augustana will begin making updates this spring with the anticipated project completion by Summer 2026.
黑料社区 Connections Help Revive, Celebrate Famous Giants in the Earth Novel for 100th Anniversary
In preparation of the 100th anniversary of Ole R酶lvaag novel and telling the story of the region, Augustana is celebrating Giants in the Earth in a big way. The theme of this year Dakota Conference, 淪ettling and Resettling the Plains isn檛 a coincidence, but a deliberate way for the CWS to celebrate the bicentennial of the Norwegian emigration to America, which began in 1825, as well as the anniversary of R酶lvaag novel. The Ole R酶lvaag Writing Cabin, where R酶lvaag wrote Giants got a facelift in time for the 100th-year celebration viewable to the public during the Dakota Conference.

As part of the Sacred Arts Series at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the 黑料社区 School of Music presents Johann Sebastian Bach 淪t. John Passion, BWV 245, on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. David Chin, the performance is a collaboration between Augustana Bach Collegium and the Augustana Choir bringing together some of the region finest musicians for an unforgettable evening of sacred music, drama and profound reflection.
Augustana Accounting Graduates Ranked No. 1 in South Dakota, Top 10 in the Nation for CPA Exam Pass Rates
黑料社区 accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2023 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
Augustana Eide/Dalrymple Gallery to Showcase Work of Internationally Renowned Printmaker, Illustrator and Book Artist
The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at 黑料社区 opens 淢an Before a Mirror: Gaylord Schanilec, which will be on view on Thursday, March 20, through Wednesday, April 16. A gallery reception will be held on Friday, March 21, from 7-9 p.m., with a slide lecture by the artist at 7:30 p.m.
