�������� students JayVian Farr �24 and Sam Skarstad �24 were crowned the 2023 Viking Days Royals at coronation on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the Elmen Center. The coronation took place in front of a crowd of students, faculty and staff following the Viking Feast on the third day of AU's homecoming.

The university is proud to announce the release of Augustana Writer-in-Residence and Professor of English Dr. Patrick Hicks� novel entitled, Across the Lake, published by SFA Press and distributed by Texas A & M University Press. The launch of the book is set to take place at the 21st annual South Dakota Festival of Books in Deadwood, South Dakota, on Sept. 22-24.

Augustana understands the value and impact that historically marginalized people have on communities all over the world � recognizing that this university would not be the place it is without these students, faculty and staff. For the month of September � National Deaf Awareness Month � Augustana is featuring Caleb Friesen �24, who is a child of deaf adults (CODA).

The at �������� features �The Homecoming 100th Anniversary: Alumni Art Invitational,� which is on view through Saturday, Sept. 23, during Viking Days 2023. A homecoming gallery reception will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, from 7-9 p.m., with a gallery talk at 7:30 p.m.
